About CHMKM Government Arts and Science College Tanur
C.H.M.K.M Govt. Arts & Science College Tanur was established in 2013 as part of the initiative to establish new Arts & Science Colleges in Assembly constituencies lacking a Government or Aided college. The college is affiliated with the University of Calicut and is currently located temporarily at Puthentheru, approximately 2 km from Tanur town. It provides access to higher education for the public, particularly for residents of the coastal area, fulfilling a long-cherished dream of the people in and around the Tanur constituency. The establishment was made possible through the efforts of Sri. Abdul Rahman Randathani, the then Honorable MLA of Tanur, and was inaugurated on August 1st, 2013, by the then Chief Minister of Kerala, Sri. Oommen Chandy. The college's continued progress is supported by the dynamic leadership of individuals like Honorable MLA Shri. V Abdurahiman and other well-wishers. Blessed with cultural and religious harmony in the region, which serves as an inspirational source for its students, the college is proud that two batches have already graduated with remarkable results.
