GEMS Arts & Science College is a pioneer institution in the Co-operative sector, run by Global Education and Management Studies (GEMS) Co-operative Ltd No.782. Established in the academic session 2008-2009, it initially offered 14 UG and 5 PG courses, boasting excellent infrastructural facilities across all departments. The college aims to provide a stimulating learning environment, with a mission not only to generate knowledge but also to transform students' perspectives, empowering them to become better citizens. GEMS Arts & Science College has a strong record of academic excellence, evidenced by its students consistently achieving rank holder positions in Calicut University for various batches (2019-2022, 2021-2023, M.Sc General Biotechnology 2021-23). The institution fosters research and innovation, with student project works accepted by NIRDC-New Delhi for publication for Patents. Dr. Unni, the Academic & Research Director, was invited to attend the 30th Federation Of Asian And Oceanian Biochemists And Molecular Biologists (FAOBMB) Conference in Bangkok, Thailand, for his research on oral squamous cell carcinoma. The college's NSS unit also won the First Prize for the State Vegetable Development Scheme from the Department of Agriculture, Government of Kerala. GEMS provides various innovative programmes for students to enrich their social commitment and professional quality.
The Placement Cell at GEMS Arts & Science College facilitates student placements in reputed companies. Alumni hold significant positions in various industries.
