About Vimala College (Autonomous), Thrissur
Vimala College, Thrissur, established in 1967, is an autonomous institution affiliated to the University of Calicut. Sprawling over 29.6 acres of land in the cultural capital of Kerala, it was founded as a citadel for the education, enlightenment, and progress of young women. Driven by the visionary diligence of the CMC Management, the college has evolved significantly, celebrating its 58th year of inception. The institution is dedicated to empowering women and upholding its founding ideals. Inaugurated five new Research Centres in Statistics, Sociology, Botany, Zoology, and Chemistry. Secured the CHAMPIONS title at Calicut University Intercollegiate Wrestling Championship 2025-2026. Awarded Best Lifter in Heavy Weight Category at Calicut University Intercollegiate Weightlifting Championship 2025-2026. Consistently achieves multiple Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals in various events at the Calicut University Athletics Championship, including Heptathlon, Steeplechase, High Jump, Discus Throw, Long Jump, 100 Metres, and Half Marathon. Achieved Bronze Medals at the All India Inter-University Fencing Championship 2025-2026. MSW students secured Second Runner-Up at the All Kerala Social Work Student Congress – OPSTA 2025. Capt. Dr. Lovji K. N. (NCC Officer) received the prestigious Director General (DG) Commendation Card 2025. Anjali M Nair (M.Sc. Psychology student) won First Prize in an Essay Writing Competition.
